Scam Shield is built to protect you without collecting anything about you. This page explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.
Scam Shield reads the visible text of the web page you're currently viewing, entirely within your own browser, to check it against a list of common scam patterns (such as fake prize offers or urgent pressure tactics). If it finds a match, it shows a warning directly on the page.
Scam Shield does not send your browsing activity, page content, or any personal information to any server, company, or third party — including us. There is no account, no login, and no tracking. All scanning happens locally, on your device, and nothing leaves your browser.
The extension stores two small pieces of information locally on your own device only, using your browser's built-in storage:
This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Scam Shield does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
If you purchase the Pro version, payment is handled directly by PayPal. We do not receive or store your payment card details — PayPal processes this according to their own privacy policy.
